The tutors we identify are selected for their subject mastery and their experience of competitive admissions, whether in teaching A Level and International Baccalaureate to the standard the most selective universities expect, preparing candidates for admissions tests including the ESAT, TMUA, TARA, UCAT and LNAT, developing UCAS personal statements, and interview practice.
Selecting the right tutor for your family for full time roles
Admissions support consists of strengthening a student's grasp of their chosen subject to beyond the level of A Level or the IB curricula, giving the student an idea of what a future studying that degree will entail. Once this is established, a tutor will help their student prepare their application that demonstrates the passion and intellect that will translate to success in their chosen course, ensuring they are well placed for admissions tests, and have the confidence to express themselves clearly under interview conditions.

The UCAS Timeline & Admissions Tests
UK applications run to a fixed and unusually early schedule. A student applies through UCAS to a maximum of five courses, with a single personal statement serving all of them. Applicants to Oxford and Cambridge, and to medicine and other select disciplines, must submit by the October deadline, roughly three months ahead of the main deadline for other courses. Admissions tests are typically sat in the same period, and Oxbridge interviews follow in December.
Since the 2026 entry cycle, the personal statement has been divided into three structured questions covering a student's motivation for the subject, how their studies have prepared them for it, and what they have done outside formal education. Regarding admissions tests: Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial use the shared ESAT for engineering and the sciences, the TMUA for mathematics and computer science, and the TARA for social sciences and humanities. Medicine requires the UCAT, and law the LNAT. Because these tests are now shared between institutions, scores are directly comparable across the most competitive universities, and preparation matters more rather than less.

FAQs
When should a student begin preparing for UK university admissions? UK admissions reward depth in a single subject, and that depth is built through teaching, reading and independent enquiry over an extended period. The application itself is concentrated into a short period: statements are drafted over the summer before the final year, admissions tests are sat in the autumn, and Oxbridge interviews follow in December. A student who has been well taught for one or two years is in a considerably stronger position than one who begins admissions preparation in that final autumn, however intensive it is.
Can you help with admissions tests such as the ESAT, TMUA, UCAT and LNAT? Yes. We identify tutors with direct experience of these assessments, frequently graduates of the relevant course. Preparation is most effective when integrated with a student's wider academic work rather than treated as a separate exercise, particularly for the mathematics and science tests where the underlying material overlaps with A Level and IB content. Because several of these tests are now shared across Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial, a strong score carries further than it once did.
Do you support applications to Oxford and Cambridge? Yes. Oxbridge admissions rest heavily on subject-specific tests and interviews, both of which reward depth and nouanced understanding rather than general accomplishment. Interviews in particular are designed to test how a candidate thinks when presented with unfamiliar material. We identify tutors with direct experience of these processes, and work with students applying to other competitive courses, including medicine, law and engineering, in the same way.
Do you support students applying from outside the UK? Yes. We regularly work with internationally mobile families and with students following other curricula, including the International Baccalaureate, Advanced Placements and national systems.
