ROLAND WITHEROW
DIRECTOR
Roland has nearly two decades of tutoring experience, including exam preparation, Oxbridge applications, full-time travelling roles with high profile clients, music tuition, homeschooling, and working with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. An alumnus of St Paul’s school and Christ Church Oxford, where he graduated with a first class degree in Italian and Portuguese, Roland also has an MPhil in Theoretical Linguistics from Cambridge, where his research in Dialectology has been cited by leaders in their fields, and an MA in Music Composition from City University, London. Roland is a dedicated and lifelong educator, and father to a young boy.
WILLIAM BROOKE
DIRECTOR
William graduated from Christ Church, Oxford with a first class Masters in Physics having been awarded the Oxford University Tessella Prize for Software Innovation. He has over ten years of experience tutoring Mathematics, Economics and the Sciences across all age groups. After leaving Oxford he joined financial consultancy Parker Fitzgerald before becoming a freelance consultant advising small and medium-sized companies on strategy and development, alongside working as a private tutor. William is also an avid filmmaker, and has produced and directed award-winning documentaries on Physics, Philosophy and Mathematics.
OLGA MICHAELIDOU
ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR
Olga ensures the smooth running of daily operations and provides vital support across teams. With over eight years of experience in administration, client relations, and office coordination. She is fluent in Greek, English, and Russian, and is skilled in managing communications, streamlining workflows, and supporting both colleagues and clients with efficiency and professionalism. Originally from Cyprus, Olga brings the warmth of Mediterranean culture into her professional approach, fostering positive relationships and a collaborative spirit.

Our fees
We offer a tailored service that reflects the calibre of our tutors. Our fees are structured transparently and align with the exceptional standards we uphold.
For hourly tuition, fees start at GBP 85 per hour.
When it comes to the salary of a homeschooling or full-time tutor, this can vary greatly depending on a number of factors, including but not limited to: the location, the number of hours of tuition required, and the skillset and experience of the tutor. A tutor able to teach Calculus, Computer Science and Music up to the end of high school, for example, is a rare skillset and so would require a competitive salary to find an exceptional tutor with these qualities. Similarly, this would also apply to a family looking for a tutor with significant experience teaching across a wide range of ages, or with experience of multiple curricula across different countries’ educational systems, or who speaks a specific combination of languages.
We take this into account when advising a family on the salary and other contractual details to offer a tutor. Typically, we advise salaries starting at $120,000 in order to secure outstanding tutors with significant experience and exemplary academic records. Our fees at Witherow Brooke are equivalent to 25% of the tutor’s annual salary for the first year of an engagement and 15% thereafter.

Ilan Lazarus
Tutor of Mathematics
Ilan studied Mathematics at Cambridge University and currently works as a tutor and musician. He is an expert in Mathematics tuition, having taught at every age level from precocious 4 year olds in New York to 30-year old accountants in London, as well as preparing students for competitive 11+ and 13+ admissions tests in Maths and Non-Verbal Reasoning. He is also a Subject Expert for the Centre of Thinking Youth in London, covering Mathematics up to Further Maths A Level.

Witherow Brooke was founded in 2020 by Directors Roland Witherow and William Brooke, two Oxford graduates who shared a deep conviction in the transformative power of education.
Roland’s extensive background as a full-time and homeschooling tutor for families around the world, combined with William’s management consultancy expertise and impeccable attention to detail, set the stage for a tuition agency unlike any other.
Both founders had experienced the rewards of excellent schooling firsthand and believed in creating opportunities that extend further than traditional classrooms. Their passion lies in helping children discover their interests, talents, and confidence—fostering personal growth that lasts a lifetime.
With a combined thirty years of experience in private tuition and educational consultancy, Roland and William saw an opportunity to build a service that went beyond mere tutoring.
