Witherow Brooke is an elite international tuition agency, based in England, providing private tuition, educational consultancy and recruitment for homeschooling and full-time tuition roles.
Whether families are looking for a tutor as a replacement to traditional schooling, or to work alongside school in a capacity of academic support and enrichment, our process involves a bespoke global search to identify the best possible tutor for the unique requirements of each family.
In addition to placing tutors with families around the world, founders Roland and William provide educational consultancy to all clients, including advice on admissions strategy for global top-tier schools and universities, bespoke curriculum design, and guidance on academic pathways.

AN INTRODUCTION FROM OUR DIRECTORS:
We only hire tutors with exceptional academic records and tutoring references. For assignments with specific learning requirements and Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Dyslexia, ADHD or ASD, we exclusively hire tutors with prior experience.

OUR PROCESS
WE RECRUIT THE BEST TUTOR FOR EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE.

Once a Job Specification and Educational Recruitment Schedule have been agreed with the client, we will advertise the role in the educational press and headhunt through our network of tutors.

Initial interviews are conducted with a longlist of promising candidates, prior to a second round of interviews to identify a shortlist of the three best candidates for the position, including a recorded sample lesson. We conduct background checks on shortlisted candidates including academic, teaching and character references, DBS and verification of academic qualifications.

We present a shortlist of candidates to the family and arrange interviews. We support the family with contractual arrangements and paperwork in the lead up to the engagement, and stay on hand throughout the tuition to provide support and educational consultancy services to both tutor and client.
UNITED KINGDOM
GIRL, AGED 14
BACKGROUND
Witherow Brooke were asked to recruit a highly talented homeschooling tutor for a girl, aged 13 in the UK. The family felt the school their daughter attended did not sufficiently cater to the individuality and talents of each student, as well as not challenging her sufficiently to the level where she would be able to achieve future study at top-level academic institutions, an ambition certainly within reach given her academic ability. Further she had suffered from some lack of engagement during the pandemic due to classes moving online and responds much better to in-person lessons. As such, they wanted to replace her schooling with homeschooling for a period in order to accelerate her education.
OUTCOME
After discussing the post at length with the family, Witherow Brooke launched a recruiting campaign involving advertising in the educational press and conventional headhunting, to present the family with a shortlist of three outstanding tutors. A focus was placed on finding a highly gifted educator with a charming and enthusiastic manner to best engage the student and make learning interactive and enjoyable. After sample lessons and interviews with each of the candidates, a highly gifted tutor who had attended an Ivy-League College was selected to the role. She had a wide range of experience working with children of a similar age and ability, and was particularly adept at creating innovative and memorable examples with physical props and real-world analogies. She is still currently working with the family.
WHO WE ARE
Directors Roland Witherow and William Brooke have a combined thirty years of experience in private tuition and educational consultancy. Having studied together at Christ Church, Oxford, Roland worked for many years as a homeschooling tutor, specialising in the Humanities and Music. William worked as a financial consultant and private tutor in the Maths and Sciences before setting up Witherow Brooke. He also makes educational films in Physics and Philosophy.
