OUR SERVICE
Witherow Brooke is an elite international tuition agency, based in England, providing private tuition and educational consultancy for families in the UK and around the world.
Witherow Brooke sets itself apart from other agencies by operating a highly selective process and working with only the most elite tutors. Founders Roland and William deal personally with all clients and tutors to provide a fully bespoke service.
In addition to matching tutors with families, we offer all our clients educational consultancy services, including school and university admissions strategy, working towards long-term educational ambitions, and bespoke curriculum design.
We only hire tutors with exceptional academic records and tutoring references. For assignments with specific learning requirements and Special Education Needs (SEN) such as Dyslexia, ADHD or ASD, we exclusively hire tutors with prior experience.
All of our tutors have up-to-date DBS checks and are personally interviewed by ourselves prior to any engagement.

GIRL, AGED 14
BACKGROUND
Witherow Brooke were asked to recruit a highly talented homeschooling tutor for a girl, aged 13 in the UK. The family felt the school their daughter attended did not sufficiently cater to the individuality and talents of each student, as well as not challenging her sufficiently to the level where she would be able to achieve future study at top-level academic institutions, an ambition certainly within reach given her academic ability. Further she had suffered from some lack of engagement during the pandemic due to classes moving online and responds much better to in-person lessons. As such, they wanted to replace her schooling with homeschooling for a period in order to accelerate her education.
OUTCOME
After discussing the post at length with the family, Witherow Brooke launched a recruiting campaign involving advertising in the educational press and conventional headhunting, to present the family with a shortlist of three outstanding tutors. A focus was placed on finding a highly gifted educator with a charming and enthusiastic manner to best engage the student and make learning interactive and enjoyable. After sample lessons and interviews with each of the candidates, a highly gifted tutor who had attended an Ivy-League College was selected to the role. She had a wide range of experience working with children of a similar age and ability, and was particularly adept at creating innovative and memorable examples with physical props and real-world analogies. She is still currently working with the family.

We headhunt and interview personally all the tutors in our network, including having them provide a sample lesson which gives an idea of their personality and teaching style. For every tutor we work with we interview more than a dozen candidates, all with the highest levels of experience and academic achievement.

Tutors who successfully pass our interview process are then subjected to meticulous background checks and reference collection. These checks serve to establish a well-rounded assessment of candidates' teaching ability, academic background and character.

We maintain close relationships with all the tutors we place on roles, checking in with them often and ensuring that they maintain the highest standards.
WHO WE ARE
Directors Roland Witherow and William Brooke have a combined thirty years of experience in private tuition and educational consultancy. Having studied together at Christ Church, Oxford, Roland worked for many years as a homeschooling tutor, specialising in the Humanities and Music. William worked as a financial consultant and private tutor in the Maths and Sciences before setting up Witherow Brooke. He also makes educational films in Physics and Philosophy.
